ARSENAL LOOK ON AS MASSIVE BID IS ACCEPTED

Arsenal look set to miss out on Atletico Mineiro playmaker Bernard, after Shakhtar Donetsk had a bid accepted.

Bernard is available for transfer this summer, with Atletico Mineiro director of football Eduardo Maluf saying: “If there is a £22m offer, we will sell.”

And while Arsene Wenger was tipped to wrap up a deal for the 20-year-old this summer, we look set to miss out on the starlet’s signature.

According to reports on the Daily Express website, Shakhtar could be set to trump us with Mineiro president Alexandre Kalil confirming that the Ukrainian club have met their asking price for the player Kalil said: “Things are very advanced. The team is Shakhtar. “They offered the value we want. If Bernard wants, he will go.”

We will be a little disappointed to miss out, but we need a defensive midfielder and a striker first and foremost so I would rather Wenger acquire those kind of players rather than creative ones like Bernard.
