Arsenal have reportedly made a €30 million bid for
Real Madrid winger, Angel di Maria as the imminent arrival of Tottenham Hotspur
midfielder, Gareth Bale to the Santiago Bernabeu looks to leave the Argentine
international out of the starting XI.
According
to Spanish sports daily, Marca, following severe criticism from the fans,
Arsenal are looking to clean up in the final week of the summer transfer window
and the soon-to-be usurped winger could make the move to the Emirates as he
keeps his 2014 World Cup dreams alive.
Arsenal
began the summer with a €90 million war chest and will not even bat an eye to
land Di Maria in hopes of boosting their attack and with it, their European and
domestic chances.
Despite
Real Madrid and di Maria’s insistence that they are both keen on the player
seeing out his contract until 2015, the arrival of Bale undeniably signals the
end of Di Maria’s time at the Santiago Bernabeu and Arsenal’s offer would fund
a third of Gareth Bale’s transfer, something Real Madrid would find impossible
to turn down.
Arsenal
are also hoping to land Swansea City’s Michu in their last-gasp transfer raid,
but Swansea are keen to keep the Spaniard unless Arsenal pay just under what
they will pay for Di Maria.
