LUIS SUAREZ REFUSES TO DISCUSS ARSENAL TRANSFER ON INTERNATIONAL DUTY

Liverpool striker Luis Suarez instructs team-mates and Uruguayan FA to maintain silence over prospective Arsenal transfer rumours.

Liverpool forward Luis Suarez is in Japan for a friendly with the Uruguay team, and has made the decision not to speak about the constant speculation linking him with a move elsewhere during his spell with the national side.

The Daily Mirror report that Suarez has also requested that both his team-mates and his country’s Football Association refrain from discussing his future – likely because he feels any further public talk may jeopardise the chances of the transfer he craves.

Suarez is as determined to leave Liverpool as ever, and agent Pere Guardiola is set for further talks with the Anfield hierarchy this week to try to arrange an amicable solution – if it is not too late for that.

The 26 year-old remains open to the prospect of signing for a side outside the Premier League, but currently Arsenal are his only concrete option, and Suarez’s camp have not given up on agreeing a deal for the £40,000,001 they still believe could entitle them to a move elsewhere.

Though Liverpool are refusing to negotiate with the Gunners, Suarez’s entourage could yet present evidence they feel would legally prompt the Reds to sell at that price.

However, with there to be no word from Suarez until he returns from international duty, Arsenal may have to wait until he returns before any progress is made with a deal.
