Arsenal Boss Arsene Wenger believes His side has
been hit with the toughest Champions League group of all and He suppose 10
points out of 18 points should be enough to qualify to the round of 16.
Last season Runners up Borussia Dortmund and Serie
A leaders Napoli both lie wait after the Gunners kicks off their Group F
campaign trip to French giants Marseille.
It’s highly attractive schedule but an intimidating
one too and Wenger knows the size of the job ahead.
“If
you look at the group, I would say yes it is the toughest group because all the
four teams stand the chance of qualifying,” Wenger Admitted.
“That simply means every game will be treated as
an important one. On average; 10 points is all that is needed to qualify, as
difficult as it is to get 10 points, it is also a reasonable number to get
through.”
Arsenal have won all together nine straight wins in all competition – a run that includes
Champions League victories against Bayern Munich and Feberbache and He(Wenger)
believe more away points are very important.
“You need points away from home and, like in every
competition, the start is very important for the confident of the team and to
put you in a good starting position. Whether it is home or away, it is the same
basically, we’ve come here and we will win the game.” He said
