EMILIANO VIVIANO LOVES THE PASSION IN ENGLAND FOOTBALL

Arsenal signing Emiliano Viviano says he is ready to fight for the No 1 spot after completing his dream.

The Palermo goalkeeper joined the Gunners on a season-long loan on Monday and will provide back-up and competition for Wojciech Szczesny and Lukasz Fabianski.

Viviano arrives at Emirates Stadium with pedigree - he has represented Italy six times - and he can't wait to experience the passion of the Premier League.

"It feels good [to sign for Arsenal], it is a dream for me," Viviano told Arsenal Player. "I am proud to be here and I want to say thank you to the boss [Arsène Wenger].

"I think it is a good thing that there are other great goalkeepers here. It is a positive fight. We are at work every day together and I am sure there will be great friendship.

"I know Fabianski has been a little bit unlucky last year with some injuries. I always see Szczesny play and he is a good goalkeeper, a great goalkeeper. I will work hard with them to [compete]."

Viviano was on a flight to England while his new team were beating Tottenham in the north London derby, and the nature of Sunday's game is what excites him about the season ahead.

"I know the players, a lot of things about the Premier League because I love the English type of thinking about football and sports," he said.

"I hope I can help Arsenal win every match and I hope my experience with this team and this city can help me get back into the national team."
