Arsenal
midfielder Mikel Arteta has been recently added to the injury list, and could
potentially be out for six weeks.
For
the Gunners first Premier League game of the season against Aston Villa,
Arsenal will be very light in defence.

Vermaelen is out, Nacho Monreal is out and Mikel Arteta will be out for this
game tomorrow as well. That is the three main injuries we have at the moment.’

Defender
Bacary Sagna picked up an injury in a pre-season international friendly against
Belgium and is said to be doubtful for the opening game.
Forward
Theo Walcott, and midfielder Aaron Ramsey both limped out of their respective
games, and playmaker Jack Wilshere is short on match fitness.
Fullbacks
Carl Jenkinson and Kieran Gibbs are in contention to start for the London side,
and Wenger admitted his side is lacking quality in depth as a result of the
injuries.
The
side will be down to the bare bones for the Villa game, but Wenger will be
desperate to get off to a good start. After missing out on a number of targets
