FORGET IT, SAYS SUAREZ ABOUT RODGERS’ DEMAND FOR AN APOLOGY

Despite Luis Suarez’s explosive interview last week, Liverpool are willing to give the player another chance. After banishing the player to train with the reserves, Brendan Rodgers has allowed Suarez to play a part in Liverpool’s season if he apologizes to his teammates and staff publically.

The hierarchy of the club refuses to let him go to Arsenal, the only club interested at this point in time. The situation could lead to Suarez being completely frozen out by Liverpool in the coming season.

The Merseyside-based club must choose their next move carefully, as the Daily Mirror understands that Luis Suarez is refusing to apologize, insisting that he has already burnt all bridges with Liverpool and that there is no turning back. Suarez is deemed to be completely unimpressed by Rodgers’ actions this summer after committing to a “gentlemen’s agreement” that the mercurial Uruguayan will be sold if Liverpool fail to procure Champions League football in the coming season. Not only have they failed in doing that, they have failed in procuring any kind of European football at all. What is strange is why Luis Suarez isn’t handing in a transfer request, with less than 20 days left till the transfer window shuts.

Arsenal have not yet given up on their pursuit to sign the controversial striker from Anfield, as Wenger indicated that his squad was quite thin after their 3-1 victory to Manchester City. They hope to have amicable conversation about Suarez to Liverpool, as they are heavily experienced in having players who don’t want to play for them anymore. Wenger could have his first major signing this week, with many reports indicating that he has come to an agreement with Bayern Munich for defensive midfielder Luiz Gustavo.
