ARSENAL TRANSFERS: QPR’S JÚLIO CÉSAR STILL HOLDING OUT FOR SUMMER MOVE

Júlio César has left the door open to a possible move away from Queens Park Rangers before the summer transfer window shuts.

The Brazil international had been linked with a move to Napoli before Rafael Benítez snapped up out-of-favour Liverpool goalkeeper Pepe Reina on a season-long loan.

Arsenal were reportedly interested in signing the experienced shot stopper, who completed a shock move to the west London side from Inter Milan in 2012.

Hoops manager Harry Redknapp has openly admitted that he expects the South American to seal a move away from the R’s this summer, and César is still optimistic about his future.
“I am still a Queens Park Rangers player. A lot can happen before the end of August,” César told Globo Esporte.

“At the moment my focus is on the national team and I am looking forward to seeing my team-mates again.”

Meanwhile, Fiorentina sporting director Daniele Prade confirmed La Viola would not be making a bid to sign the 33-year-old.

“We can dismiss the Julio Cesar option. That is because the transfer is not feasible,” Prade told Viola Channel.

“We are happy with the two goalkeepers who we have right now and we are evaluating things on a daily basis.
