Arsenal’s
only summer signing so far, Yaya Sanogo is set to miss Arsenal first match of
the new season due to an hamstring injury. Sanogo was suppose to go to the
French under 21 camp this week but withdrew from the squad as a result of the
same injury that ensured he missed Arsenal’s clash against Manchester City last
Saturday.
This
will be a major blow for Sanogo whose career has so far been blighted with
injuries.
In
the same light, Arsenal are likely to miss the service of Ramsey for the clash
against Aston Villa this Saturday as the Welshman coped an injury in the
friendly match against Manchester City. Walcott is also a doubt for the clash
against Aston Villa.
However,
England manager Roy Hodgson has said he will exercise extra caution with Jack
Wilshere after the midfielder return to international duty with the English
national team after a long injury lay off.
“I
have not had the benefit of Jack Wilshere for a qualifying match or an
important match,” he said, “so we are pleased to have him back.
“We
are aware of the fact that Arsene is careful with him at Arsenal and I will be
careful with him as well.”
